I liked the blurb for this book, it had all the things I enjoy about a good shifter romance. Then I saw the cover and though ugh. The cover almost put me off reading the book. It’s kind of looks cheap and does not sell the book very well.

This book Is gripping from the start, we are thrown into two human estranged brothers reconnecting and I think this side of Jacks life is important to build up his current state of mind.

Ben is part of a coywolf hybrid shifter pack, they are a small family and both wolf shifters and coyote shifters are trying to wipe out the coywolf pack.

The chemistry between Ben and Jack is electric partly due to them being fated mates not that either of them know such things exist.

I liked the way the author weaved the whole of Bens pack into the story as well as Jacks Brother Rhett. It gave the secondary and minor characters a realistic feel, and it did not feel like they were there to solely make up the numbers.

We are also thrown into a three-way shifter war right on Jack and Rhett Ranch land. The Werewolves and Werecoyote’s are teaming up to wipe out the wolfcoy hybrid shifter pack. That puts all the characters in grave danger and blood is spilt.

Overall, it is a well written story with a good plot and strong characters. Its nicely paced, though personally I would have liked the book to be a little longer and learned a little more about Bens pack, and the other shifters as well as the farmhand Ernesto’s character. The story world was believable, but I was left hungry for a little more culture of the shifter’s world.

I am hoping as this is a re-release that book two is planned as this book teases us of Rhett and Ben’s brother Casey’s being fated mates, which should be fun to see how Rhett deals with this as he currently finds Casey annoying!
