Synopsis

A former king must learn to compromise or lose his mate forever.

Living in a grand castle is awesome. But after a while, Dustin, a guy accustomed to hard physical labor surrounded by co-workers he considers family, can’t handle staying home and nearly isolated without going absolutely insane. Dustin yearns for more freedom, but Casersis restricts him for his safety.

Casersis longs for a soulbond so badly his soul feels like an open wound. But he fears Dustin will refuse him, or worse, run away screaming when he learns what the soulbond entails. To avoid his worries, Casersis takes Dustin on dates. If Dustin is busy having fun, he can’t hound Casersis for why he’s always so sad. Or so Casersis thinks.

When Casersis and Dustin accidentally soulbond, neither of them are prepared. Dustin isn’t fully an elf yet. The soulbond’s ancient magic ravages Dustin’s body, sending him into random fits of excruciating pain. And if they don’t find a way to compromise about Dustin’s freedom, it may just be too late.

This 70,000-word non-shifter omegaverse novel is set in a world where mpreg (male pregnancy) is a fact of life. However, this series does not end with a baby or pregnancy.

But when I neared the gym, I heard his heavy footfalls as he ran on one of the treadmills. When I entered, his scent surrounded me—clove, clean sweat, and musk. Gods, I wanted to get lost in his scent.

He glanced over and grinned at me. “See something you like?”

I chuckled and leaned against the wall next to the door. “I do. Should I show you how much I like what I see?”

Dustin winked at me as he stopped the treadmill. He wiped down his face with the towel hanging on one of the arms and sauntered toward me with a sure, confident stride. I loved the way he made me feel hunted. And I would always want him to capture me. He already had.

“What’s up?”

Grinning, I stepped closer and stole a sweet kiss that made Dustin sigh and made our bond sing between us. “I thought we might go on a date. Go get into something comfortable that you won’t mind getting dirty. And pack a bag with toiletries, towels, shorts and a t-shirt, and warm things you don’t mind getting filthy.”

“Are you taking me to another gym?” he asked, his eyes narrowed.

I chuckled. “No. But you will be showering after, and you’ll need a nice pair of slacks and a sweater for the last half of our date. You’ll also need very warm clothes that you don’t mind getting filthy. And layers. Add as many as you can while still allowing you to move freely. So, pack a bag, and I’ll meet you at your door in twenty minutes.”

He kissed me, licked into my mouth, and drank down my moan. Then he pulled back and kissed the side of my neck. “Showering there or not, I’d better take one here before we go doing anything. I stink.”

I leaned in and sniffed his neck. His scent wrapped around me like a comforting blanket, and I purred. “I quite like the way you smell after working out.”

He rolled his eyes and fought off a smile. “You’re weird.”

Grinning, I playfully pushed him toward the door. “Go on. Shower quickly.”

He kissed me again and left me feeling lightheaded from the love that flowed through our bond. It was a heady thing, one that made me feel lighter than air as I went to my room, following my trotting mate more sedately since I had already showered.

Biography

I’m a mother, furbaby spoiler, and a girl who can’t get enough of pretty, pretty boys. As a kid, I traveled the world, too young to appreciate the gift I was given, but now those adventures spur on stories that my brain just can’t keep up with. Well, my brain tells me it keeps up just fine, but my fingers are the slow ones. I’ll let you decide. But the boys, man. The boys I remember make my heart sizzle looking back on them. Being a kid at nude beaches, I never cared, but looking back on those memories of Sicily, WHEW! There are some really great childhood images that I wish I could have been an adult to savor.Home is some place I call “rustic”. I’m used to large cities, stores everywhere, gas stations on every corner. Here in rural Pennsylvania, it’s rustic and beautiful. And quiet. Too quiet. With all this quiet, all there is to do is write stories, and let the hot men in my head out to play. We all benefit, yes? I like this development. The only thing I dislike about this rusticness is the fact I can’t find a coffee shop that sells a proper chai latte. They make it from powder. Ew. This makes for a disgruntled Dev. Ugh. I miss my chai.

Most of all, I am a down-to-earth southern girl at heart from spending 16 years in Florida. If you chat with me, you’ll hear endearments like darlin’, sweetheart, and hon/hun/hunnie. It’s who I am, and if we chat, you’re almost instantly family, so get used to it.
