Synopsis

Hunted by a vampire prince. Caged by his rescuer. Can Michael escape the dark destiny written in his blood, or will his own heart be his undoing?

“I know who you are because you belong to me. You were born to be mine.” ~ Alexei Vasiliev, the vampire prince.

Haunted by the death of his parents, Michael Blakeley wants answers. The twenty-six-year-old martial artist seeks their killer, but he also wants to know why electronics short out at his touch, and why his libido is a raging fire.

When a group of soldiers calling themselves Guardians rescue him from a back alley ambush and claim to have the answers he needs, he agrees to go with them. Especially when they tell him the attackers were vampires. But nothing in this supernatural underworld is as it seems, and when the silver-eyed commander cages him instead, Michael’s answers slip further away.

Can Michael find safety from the vampires who claim him? Can he escape the dark destiny he discovers is written into his blood? And will he break the chains of the commander who keeps him captive? The one man he has no desire to leave?

Dark Flame is the first pulse-pounding book in the Flame Born LGBT urban fantasy series. If you like enemies to lovers, shifters, sexy vampire princes, and scorching heat, you’ll love this smoldering tale of bloodlust and magic.

How long have you been writing?

About 5 years.

What made you decide you wanted to put yourself out there to be published?

I love sharing story. Publishing seemed the best way to accomplish that.

Is there one genre you haven’t tried but you see yourself writing in the future?

Classic fantasy. A completely made up world, and an epic quest. LGBTQ, of course.

Would you ever write a hetero romance? Why or why not?

I have no problems writing hetero if an idea occurs to me. My protag is bisexual. But I’m unlikely to write from a female perspective as my passion is MM romance.

What are your thoughts on erotica?

I looove it. But I do lean towards books with a broader story as well as hot sex scenes.

Name your favorite authors and some of their stories you’ve enjoyed? What do you like about the writing?

Heroes are: Anne Rice, her seductive richness. Neil Gaiman, the master storyteller. Raymond E Feist, wrote my favourite book.

More recent: Jex Lane, Hailey Turner, Arianne Nash. They all write the kind of MM romance I enjoy.

What book are you reading at the moment?

It’s okay to give a fellow author a plug!

I just finished Beneath the Opal Arc by Lee Colgin.

What are you currently working on?

Book 2 in the Flame-Born series, Dark Fate.

If you write gay romance or erotica, just how descriptive are you in their sex scenes?

Very. I’m not into euphemisms. If there’s going to be a sex scene, I believe in giving it the amount of attention it deserves.

As a gay fiction or m/m romance author, do you feel that the trend is changing where it is becoming more mainstream?

Oh gosh, yes. I’m amazed and delighted by its growing popularity. Even my sister in law has discovered MM romance, and she’s a literary buff.

Name two male celebs that you’d like to see in a hot make out session?

Vin Diesel and the Rock, but in the roles of Dominic Toretto and Agent Hobbs. Muscle on muscle, yes please.

Michael is just an ordinary guy, well apart from electric gadgets don’t like him, oh and he is being watched by a dark shadow.

On a night out his world is turned upside down and he finds himself in a Marvel like movie world. After being deduced and attacked he is rescued by a group of people that call themselves Guardian’s, which in turn seem to become his kidnappers.

Wow this story is just amazing and worthy of being made into a film or tv series. The story revolves around Michael a whisperer, channeller and half-breed vampire from an ancient bloodline. He is thrown into a dark mysterious world full of creatures that belong in fairy-tale books. But even worse he does not know who he can trust. Alexei Vasiliev the Vampire Prince seems to lay claim to him and has some sort of power that pulls Michael to him. Then there is the Commander Gabriel Flanagan, who as well as being a big Viking pain in the ass, is the one person that can dampen the magical flame that runs through his body. The commander may dampen the flame, but he sets alight a sexual need that Michael does not understand, after all he has never been attracted to men before.

Then there is the witch Quinton, that claims to be the only person that can keep Michael safe, but he messes with Michaels head.

Every main character seems to have their own motives to lay claim to Michael.

We follow Michaels journey into an unknown world, that seems to give him more questions than answers.

This is one epic paranormal fantasy with a vivid alternative story world that exists along side the world we live in. The world is full of creatures out of fairy tales and nightmares.

The author has done an excellent job of portraying the story world and the characters of the story, which have very individual and distinctive personalities. The story has several threads that have been woven perfectly.

I found the novel to be fresh and exciting and can not wait to read book two. The book Is the author’s debut novel, but when you read it, it feels like it was written by a well established author.

Excerpt

I kneel and hang my head and wait. I have to. I want to. There’s an elation in my chest, as though I’m about to meet a secret beloved I’m only now remembering. My attention draws upward, compelled to the stunning creature. I couldn’t look away if my life depended on it, but I avoid meeting his dark gaze.

With unearthly grace, the vampire saunters toward me, his eyes riveted to my face. The closer he comes, the more the battle slips into the background. It could be only the two of us here in the steelworks. Weapons fly around him—bolts and swords whistle through the air, heading for his chest, but stop midflight before they can meet their target and clatter to the concrete. He doesn’t spare them a glance.

The nearer he stalks, the harder my heart pounds. My breath comes in shallow puffs. Cold sweat soaks my T-shirt. My nails puncture the soft flesh of my palms. I feel defenseless.

The prince stands in front of me, close enough to touch, a towering demigod, his immense wings creating a shadowed cavern.

I force my eyes down, fixing them on a patch of crimson blood painted across the concrete. I resist a baffling urge to lean and rest my head against his hip.

Strong, elegant fingers cup my chin to lift my face. I tense, my stomach twisting with panic. I’m certain that once I meet those black eyes, it’s over. His fingers burn hot against my chin. The touch tingles my skin like champagne. I melt into his hand and look up, finding two pools of darkest night. My resistance vanishes.

Master. The word hangs in my mind.

I will never let it leave my lips.

Biography

I’m a simple northern English lass with an addiction to writing, as well as all things romance. Also addicted to cats, cat videos, and anything with, you know, cats in it. And there's chocolate, and tea, coffee too, and rainy Sundays. Okay, I have many addictions. But my first love has always been story in all its forms, from movies to books to anecdotes told over a beer at the local pub. If we're sharing a story, I'm all ears. And if it's fantasy with sexy heroes and vampires and lots of angsty luuurve, I'm probably drooling. Come in, pour yourself a tea, and kick your shoes off. Let me tell you a story.
